Juneteenth (Freedom/Emancipation Day) Celebration History

Juneteenth (Made up of the word "June" and "Nineteenth") is also known as Freedom/Emancipation day because 19th of June is the day of the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the State of Texas (1865).

Juneteenth is the oldest celebrated holiday in the United States. In this era of human history, Juneteenth is significant not only for the freedom of African Americans. Now, it also emphasizes on the education and achievement of African American.
